073/365 – celebrate
072/365 – self-improvement
Yesterday, Brian loaned me his book “48 Days to the Work You Love.” I’m only 2 chapters in and I can already tell this is a book I wish I could have read when I was in college. I’ve never had a solid direction in my professional life, but in 48 days I’ll never feel lost in my career again.
On top of that, I’ve started my Total Money Makeover by shunning my credit cards and preparing for the cash system. I think I’m going to do a separate blog of my financial journey from now until I’m debt free, which would hopefully provide me with a great support system, and give others in my situation a story to follow so they see they’re not alone and the situation is not hopeless.

WOW! I was blown away at Dave Ramesy’s Total Money Makeover LIVE! seminar. I’ve listened to him on the radio & seen his tv show, but I had no idea of what an inspirational speaker he is.
In the summer of 2008, I read his book & started to follow some of the methods for getting out of debt, but when I moved to the Hill Country I just stopped. Now I’m pumped up to go full force on it!
I’m giving a shout out to Brian, who first introduced me to Dave Ramsey, and a huge thank you to Stacy and Andrianne for taking me to the seminar. Let’s do this!

My mom treated me to 18 holes today at Grand Oaks Golf Club in Grand Prairie. The soggy conditions almost yanked my shoe off on one hole and added about 10 strokes to my average game of 100+ strokes, which took me from “sucky golfer” to “why do you even bother.” But as frustrating as it was, “a bad day on the golf course is better than a good day at work,” or something to that affect. Sometimes I wonder…
